The mythical creature dragon, with its majestic and experienced nature, gave its name to this series; specifically its iris.

In Chinese mythology, the dragon, 龙 lóng, is the most famous figure.

 

For me, my pictures from the Dragon Eye series represent wisdom, power and strength.

My first encounter with the dragon was when I began practicing Weng Chun Kung Fu, a martial art that dates back to the 17th century. There I learned about the dragon as a being of wisdom and experience.

 

Through my training in this martial art, I gained a lot of inner strength and balance. Since then, I have felt a strong connection between myself and my inner nature, which I created with the support of the dragon.

 

My pictures are intended to visually show that everyone can be strong, courageous and wise and act in their own way. Regardless of their personal limitations; these are secondary.

 

It is our inner attitude and perspective that we have towards ourselves and towards the mirror that our environment holds up to us.

And just as each of us is unique, so are the irises of the dragons.
